Sound Thinking - Episode 3 (Proto-Punk)

This radio series, that originally aired on Flirt.FM a licensed student radio station for NUIG, takes one particular type of music, subculture, sub-genre, or moment in time each week and examines it in detail. Listening to some of the best or underrated music and looking at the history behind it. Sound Thinking - Episode 2 (Mod Revival)

This radio series, that originally aired on Flirt.FM a licensed student radio station for NUIG, takes one particular type of music, subculture, sub-genre, or moment in time each week and examines it in detail. Listening to some of the best or underrated music and looking at the history behind it. Episode 2 follows on from the previous week and looks at the mod revival in early 1980s. Spearheaded by Paul Weller and his band The Jam, the mod revival brought back to fashion and style of the original movement and infused it with the pace and energy of punk. Sound Thinking - Episode 1 (1960's Mod)

 This radio series, that originally aired on Flirt.FM a licensed student radio station for NUIG, takes one particular type of music, subculture, sub-genre, or moment in time each week and examines it in detail. Listening to some of the best or underrated music and looking at the history behind it. Episode 1 looks into the mod subculture in the 1960s. Originally based around northern soul and modern jazz the movement is now mostly associated with British invasion rock bands such as The Who, The Kinks, and the Small Faces.
